6th Christmas concert - Božična luč

In the year 2003 the Zbor sv. Nikolaja (Saint Nicholas Choir), along with the Simfonija Luwigana orchestra, soloist Marcos Fink and the Nikolajev otroški zbor (Saint Nicholas Children's Choir), prepared a concert. It was titled Božična luč (The Christmas Light). The choir performed compositions from the CD with the same title. The concert was conducted by Helena Fojkar Zupančič. Christmas concerts of the Zbor sv. Nikolaja are becoming a tradition in Litija, since this one was already the sixth. The concert was performed twice - on 25th December 2003 in the church of Saint Nicholas in Litija, and on 4th January 2004 in the cathedral of Saint Nicholas in Ljubljana.

The performed opus of the English composer John Rutter sounded in all its beauty. The text which was translated into Slovene by prof. Irma Močnik only increased it. The convincing performance of the choir charmed the public. Numerous audiences on both concerts awarded the choir with a long applause.



"The ability to sing, to share one's gift with others and enjoy it is not given to just anyone and at the end if the reward is a thundering applause it makes everything far more perfect and beautiful. Such a large audience on both of the concerts was certainly not expected, so our coming onto the stage was a bit of a surprise for us. The feelings while we were singing were indescribable and the audience's response was incredible. No one could stay unaffected, seeing the tears in the auditor's eyes. Every hour invested in hard work has been replayed a thousand times. Nobody can describe the feeling, when you beautify one's day or evening..."
